Network Design and Installation

Medium and small business scale networks are typically of one of two types: cabled or wireless (wifi), or a mixture of the two. Each type of network has its strengths and weakness and a number of factors including practicality, security, redundancy, flexibility, cost and speed must be considered in the design of an office computer network.

We will carry out an site survey of your business premises, evaluate your existing network setup and provide a proposal based on your requirement; all free of charge. Upon acceptance of the proposal we will complete a detailed network design before installation. Installation of the network includes all Cat5 and Cat6 structured cabling, configuration of all network infrastructure devices (switches, routers, wireless devices, firewalls, etc) and configuration of network attached devices such as personal computers, servers and printers. We will then provide you with a full set of documentaion detailing your network setup.

Network Support Services

Insight Concepts offer a complete range of network support services to protect and cover your network in the event of breakdown or failure. We recognise that the requirements of each business is different and, therefore, do not offer standard support contracts, but tailor each contract to meet the specific requirements of the client.

We proactively monitor your network devices and will automatically be alerted should any problems occur, often knowing before you do. We evaluate each individual incident to determine its impact and criticality and then respond within the predefined time-scale that has been agreed with you.

In the event of a hardware failure loan equipment will be provided, where available, to tide you over until the fault equipment has been repaired or replaced.

Internet Connectivity and Security

A firewall is a system designed to prevent unauthorized access to or from your network network. A firewall isolates your internal network from the Internet using a code that inspects each packet of data as it arrives at either side of the firewall, inbound to or outbound from your network, to determine whether it should be allowed to pass or be blocked. We will assist you with setting up your internet connection and securing access to your internal network using a firewall specified to meet your requirements and budget.

Virtual Private Networks (VPN) and Remote Access

A virtual private network (VPN) is a computer network in which some of the links between nodes are carried over the internet. VPN are typically used by businesses to connect networks at remote offices and facilties together into a single virtual virtual network that allows networked devices and users to communicate and share resources securely as though they were all connected to the same physical network. A VPN can enable users to log on at different sites with the same logon credentials and have access to the same resources. All VPN traffic between sites is encryted before it is sent and decrypted at the other end so, even if it is intercepted during transmission across the internet, your data is always secure from prying eyes.

Remote access allows off-site users to securely connect to the office network from anywhere in the world and work and access the internal office network and resources as though they were directly connected to the network. This provides greater flexibility for a mobile work force and tele-workers. Again, all traffic carried across public networks is encrypted so your data is always secure.
